Katherine

Seven Fields has long term leases over two adjacent properties in Katherine, Eumaralla and Goldings, in addition to a packing shed close to the town's centre. Katherine is the fourth largest town in the Northern Territory and is located 312 kilometres south-east of Darwin on the Katherine River. The region has a rapidly growing mango industry with over 180,000 trees and is renowned for the quality of mango produced and sold on the Southern markets before Queensland production enters its peak.

Seven Fields grows approximately 148 hectares of mangoes (29,000 trees), 32 hectares of lemons and 10 hectares of red grapefruit in Katherine. With over 400 hectares of unplanted land and an abundant water supply, Seven Fields currently has plans to increase the production area for its existing varieties and investigate the potential for new ones.

The company's packing shed, which is located approximately 30km from the farms, is capable of processing large volumes of mangoes grown in the region (in excess of 15,000 trays per day). This capacity allows us to contract pack and market for other growers in the region. In addition to mangoes, the shed also packs citrus and can also handle other fruits such as avocadoes. The facility is the largest and most up to date of its kind in the Katherine region, and one of the only packing sheds in the Northern Territory that is fully air-conditioned.

Produce grown in Katherine by Seven Fields includes: Mangoes (Kensington Pride and R2E2) and Citrus (Lemons and Red Grapefruit).
